When Dwight E. Stoltzfus founded DESCCO in 1976, it was his hope to imprint a standard of quality on the building trades that would last for many generations to come.

Today, that standard endures in the new homes, additions and remodelings, roads and bridges, churches, and commercial buildings that DESCCO has built.

With Dwight’s passing in 2004, the torch was passed to the loyal and dedicated staff who have worked with Dwight over the years.

In today’s fiercely competitive environment, DESCCO is truly a hybrid. We excel in situations that require unusual attention, patience, and nurturing. Because we build for reasons that surpass our own immediate goals, we can bring foresight, integrity, and longevity to our work.

When Minnie Stoltzfus, Dwight’s mother, cultivated the hybrid hickory nut tree that bore these hardy fruits (twice the size of most), she didn’t know if she would see the tree bear fruit in her lifetime.
The art of grafting was very new when she set out to touch the future. Only half the seedlings survived the first critical years, and with them, the tradition of providing an enduring legacy for the coming generations was born.
